Our bodies have more wisdom than we give them credit for.
While we’re busy believing what our big brains tell us, we’re often ignoring the whispered cries from our stomachs and our chests and our shoulders.
But… they have neurons too! They have something say!
And often, they know what’s up before our brain (which is busy with all it’s oh-so-important thinking) gets around to figuring out what’s going on.
So maybe – right now – pause and scan your body.
Tune into each part of your body in turn and notice how it’s feeling.
Maybe there’s a heaviness in your chest.
Or a knot in your shoulders.
Or a mysterious discomfort in your stomach.
And then ask: what are you trying to tell me?
Just let that question hang there.
There’s no right or wrong answer. Maybe there’s no answer at all.
But often – gradually, like the seeping of water – the reason for that discomfort reveals itself.
Whatever comes up is OK. There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s just a message.
All we need do is give it some care and some understanding.
And when we’re able to do that, a world of release – a vision of new possibilities – can open up.
