Maybe we’ve had a few good days.
We’ve been practicing feeling better – and it’s working!
We’ve banished that mild anxiety. We’re living in a place of flow.
Something happens and we lose our momentum.
That bad feeling comes back again.
It seems like we’re back to where we started (except that it feels worse, because now we know how good feeling good is!)
At this point, the temptation is to get mad at ourselves.
To blame ourselves for failing.
To think we’ve lost our path and will never find our way back.
But the reality is, we’re perfectly imperfectly human.
We’ve going to have good days and bad days. Because we’re human.
The secret is to be gentle to ourselves. To avoid beating ourselves up for failing.
Instead, just to realize that – yes – we’re perfectly imperfectly human. And that’s OK.
Then… that realization allows us to relax and restart the better-feeling journey.
