That’s a line from a Spice Girls song that pops into my head sometimes.
There’s a reason for this bizarre 90s throwback: Stopping right now is actually a very good thing.
When we’re anxious and stressed – and our mind is processing at 5000 RPM – then stopping and being still can work wonders.
Here’s how it feels to me (I did it just before writing this email):
It’s as if I step away from day-to-day activity and tap into a source of wisdom that is greater than me.
And what’s more, that source feels benevolent and loving. Like everything is going to be alright.
So maybe try this when you feel your brain is over-heating with thought activity.
